Pushing up hill backwards may require chains on the steer axle or a massive amount of weight on the rear.

My chains are a little big (salvaged) and they do rub the tie rod end. It is not a big deal.

I usually use all four chained up. It just makes life simpler when the heavy wet deep snow falls. I do not spin the tires near as often with just the rears chained.

Lots of misinfo out there and a lot of wannabes that heard a rumor...

Problem: if you are welding on the frame and have the ground hooked close that is good. BUT then decide to tack a bracket to the engine and maybe the ground strap to the frame is not so good and you did not move your ground clamp that causes a problem, Maybe.

You you be amazed at the amount of wannabes that hook up the ground to the frame and weld something that runs inside of bearings.

The list can go on forever.

There are lots of ways to get corn in the ground with out a planter. Planters just make it nicer and easier.

There are scads of them avaiable from tractor supply, international dealer, or antique parts suppliers.

Yup it's a cat 1. I had one for over 13 years put over 3000 hours on it and it still was solid when I traded it.

Got more on trade than I paid for it.

If you have a 100 hrs on it since rebuild and you have white smoke and black oil drops. I'd call the dealer.

It could be as simple as a bad injector or 2 or timing. And could be... deep. White smoke is not indicative of oil problems it would be very blueesh. I've still got to believe its near the top of the motor.

The rebuilder needs to solve, me thinks!

Me thinks just about any farmer that has side hills can relate to that only you have to add a chopper/baler and a loaded wagon.

You'll get all the drifting you want for a lifetime with one good uncontrolled slide off a side hill. Hoping to keep it all in line and upright...

I use register.com and have 3 url's registered with the pointers to odyssey.net.

The trick is to find someone to host it. Currently I use odyssey.net to host. It is my local dial up provider and I can access it from work for big up and down loads.

I like the local approach because I can go in and pat my foot on the floor :-) plus other things when it all does not go right which is sometimes the case.

My thought is: If the customer has to pay transportation they are going to the dealer and many times the dealer will transport for no charge (as part of the repair not seen on bill).

Consider a mobile repair set up. A shop on wheels. Proceed with the convenience to the customer charge by the hour you might as well get paid well to teach your customer how to do it and why you do it this way...Hell just to drive in and sharpen their blades change oil, spring tune ups, would make you a living. Many people do not have the time and will pay someone to do that work. Help change attachments (how many times on this site have you heard someone whine about how hard or what a pain it is to do).

Also sub out to other heavy equipment mobile repair shops.

Charge for shop rag cleaning, haz disposal etc...

Only do the jobs that can be done in a driveway.

I believe mobile service, diagonistics and repair is going to be a very excellent field. The testing equipment alone and where to test would put you well into a very secure and comfortable living.

I do not think you can get away with $40 per hour even at your home unless it is all under the table. Insurance and libiality would eat you alive.

I like the solid foam board because of the moisture issues from concrete sweating.

2X4 with 2" foam board sealed to the studs and open at the top would allow a air space for moisture and evaporation.

There could be several sources for liquid. Also there are different names for some different varieties of the stuff. We also use one called mag-cloride.<br>

Check with your local highway dept they will know who the local venders are. Also ask them about dust oil. Dust oil will knock down the dust but it won't tighten up the gravel, like Murf said. Dust oil may be less expensive also and last longer.<br>

If you only want to look in Yellow pages look under asphalt suppliers, sand & gravel, stone etc. Of course calcium or chemicals.<br>

This year had some of our main calcium sources dry up. Currently we are railing some in and storing for next season. With that thought our dust oil became more comepitive for dust control.<br>

To do it yourself, with liquid, I'd get a 55 gal plastic barrel, plastic fittings and valve, drill 1/4" holes 6" apart and go for it.

Many times it is just easier to pull the shifter out. But I'm not there. The ball is on the end of the shifter lever.

The neutral slide/slot would be in alignment across the 3 sliders.

Keep feeding/baiting them. That will get the in the habit of free lunch. There will be lots of ways to approach your bait then. Those critters are extreamly wiley so your will probably have to find a spot down wind.

If the vacum is sucking the baggie 150' the tube is already open. I'd try Ceran wrap and a very light thread and then pull a heavier twine thru. Maybe a bigger shop vac. Maybe a smaller ball of ceran wrap.

I'm not an electrician. But there is no way to measure with out an instrument.

If you have a old plug in clock you can time the second hand and get in the ball park. This is based on what I've read can not tell you for sure it works.

Chris I made them from a bunch of scrap chains. They have welded links to get the right lenght.

These tires do not turn at highway speed they do not have to be perfect. There is a lot of iron in those chains each one on the rear weights over 100#.

Old Highway Dept truck chains work beautiful and can be traded for in most cases. A couple 4 cans of coffee and donuts are best for trading.

As I said the price does not sound to bad especially if tractor is clean and there are not a lot of used ones in the area.
