Yes, a "stand-a-lone" 12V battery on that sprayer will last you a couple of hours. But I'd recommend hooking up a battery charger right after you finish so it'll be charged for the next time you use it.

Also, check with Norther Tools at 800-533-5545 for a tow behind sprayer. a 26 gal with boom sells for $289. A 16 gal with sprayer and boom for $249.

BTW tapping in to your tractor's 12v system takes two wires, hot and ground. With the "blade" male/female type connectors makes connections easy. Good luck.

DeTwang, to answer your original question, I had an F350 1ton crew cab dually until just recently. I insured it with GEICO and didn't have a problem.

the 755 will be too small of a tractor to remove those size rocks. I had a JD750 that was too small and bought a 4210 which will do the job as soon as I modify a front used bucket I bought. I plan to weld forks on the front bottom edge and cut slots in the bottom of the bucket to allow dirt to sift thru while holding the rocks in the bucket. I've used the box scraper to break the dirt and exposed the rocks (2"-6" diameters), now to find time to modify the front bucket :)

I looked at an 870 a couple of months ago before buying my 4210. Had 320 hrs, FEL and canopy only and seller was asking $12,500. I offered $10,500 but she didn't accept so I bought the 4210 with FEL and 5' box scraper at $13,900 out the door, delivered. Being this only has a belly mower, I'd say $9500 would be my maximum offer.

There was a JD dealer in Sacramento, Ca area that had a bunch of Gators, back hoes and lots of other implements on his lot. He finally went belly up a couple of years ago. I heard that Deere keep sending him more inventory but he could move his inventory, lost everything and is now working for another dealer.

I'm sure you're aware that JD and Kubota has zero interest for 24 -36 months? When I bought my 4210 I was going to pay cash, but was informed of the zero interest so I decided to use their money for 24 months and make payments. I don't know where you're located but used compact tractors are a big demand here in Northern California. I sold my JD 750 4x4 with FEL, box scraper and 350 hrs for $8500

I made a set of forks using 2"x3"x .090" thick tubing. I tack welded a length of the same material across the top of my bucket. I drilled 1/2" hole on each fork and bolted it on the bucket using 1/2" bolts. This allowed me to remove just the forks via two bolts. I've used it to lift about 500 lbs per load of roof shingles to place on the roof when I reroofed the 30'x40' shop.

Odd that this post appears. I bought a 2400 psi with a Honda 5 hp from Costco last year and paid $398 out the door. I used it a couple of times but not since last Aug. Today I pulled it out to power wash my engine compartment but sprung a leak in the high pressure hose. I brought it back to Costco with my receipt, they refunded the $389 and I went to the self they keep the new ones and bought the exact same power washer but paid $324 out the door. Can't beat that.

The important question to you is, "are you satisfied with the tractor?" It's irrelevent what others think about the price you paid. Obviously you felt the price was fair and you were able to afford it. ;). Congrats on your JD..have fun, be safe.

I bought a used bucket today and will weld individual tooth on and use it exclusively for scooping the rocks. I also plan to plasma cut "slots" in the bottom of the bucket to release the dirt but keep the rocks in the bucket. I'll post pics when I finish it. It may take a while, because it's low on my priority list.

I can understand the rational of being on a budget but does anyone remember the old Fram Oil filter commercial where the mechanic standing in front of a car which appeared that he just replaced the engine, says, "you can pay me now or you can pay me later"?
My point being is that buying a tractor on a limited budget may not be the best approach. You may end up with an anchor around your neck that won't do the job that's intended to do plus you may not get your money back when you sell it. I just upgraded from a JD 750 4x4 to a JD 4210 4x4 because the 750 just strained when I used the box scraper over the river rock property I have. The 4210 easily breaks the ground and rocks loose so now, I'll buy a tooth bar or cutting edge to mount on the loader to scoop up the rocks.
