MMM question

After weeks of shopping & comparing & pricing (and indecision)I am fianally ready to order a new 4210 MFWD. Only decision left to make is....do I equip it with the 60" 7-iron or the standard 72" MMM? Any suggestions and/or guidance will be tremendously appreciated!! Thanks.

Winterhunter I would suggest that you consider a 4310 if you plan to use a 72" MMM. The 4310 has a taller stance and will allow you more adjustability. From others I have spoken with there seems to be an issue with the amount of height adjustment on the 4210 with the MMM due to it lower height stance. I think the 72" althought it will fit would be a bit much for the 4210 in heavier grass. The 4310 offers obviously more hp and is still a mid frame tractor. It is one of the most popular of the 4000 Ten Series for a good reason. It may cost a little more but I think you would be better served with it. ....

Thanks Chief! Am seriously consider your thoughts & opinion. In fact, I'm really leaning towards the 4310 now. Likely will order it with 72" mmm and 59" front mount snowblower. Any other suggestions also welcome as I'm kinda' new here. Thanks again. ....

My preference is for the ehydro transmission. Has the most versatility IMO. In your neck of the woods; get the engine block heater AND the transmission oil heater. You are going to have to make the call on tires. R-4's are a pretty good compromise between turfs and ag tires but the R-4 can still mark up the lawn if it is wet or soggy. Turfs and chains is winter may work best. Not sure what would work best in your particular application. I would strongly recoommend the dual front facing and rear facing light kits. They are great for dusk and after dark. In your case, you will need them to see around the snow blower if need be. Maybe a spare set of blades for the MMM so you can rotate them. The Tricycler Mulching Kit is PRICEY but it is a matter of opinion if it is worth it. Maybe an armrest kit. I suggest you demo BEFORE buying. ....

I also compaed the 72" versus 60" mower for my 4310. The 60" was about $300 cheaper, and I was of the opinion that it would be more maneuverable around tight obstacles, and that I could cut just as much grass in the same or similar amount of time given I could have a higher ground speed for same power with a smaller cutting requirement.

So far I have been very pleased with the 60"

I also purchased a spare set of blades so I can keep one set sharpened and ready to put on when you hit the inevitable rock that wasn't there the year before...
