I just purchased a 1997 B2400HSD with FEL. Just like about everything else I do I have been like a kid in a candy store looking at all the potential toys to add to it.
In my mind I had bought a new back hoe, Box blade, bush hog,Tiller etc. In reality I am going to have to scrimp and save to get the implements one at a time. My justification for buying this tractor is My wife and I recently purchased a new home and need to do a lot of yard work as well as cleaning up my property. My question here is, when money is an object what implement should I consider to be the most important ? I absolutley will be getting the Backhoe in the spring. Box Blade, tiller bush hog are on my wish list!(sizes?)I have read dozens of threads on this board and you seem to be very helpful. My wife Doesn't think my tractor's sexy! To make things worse around the tractor is parked next to my Race truck in the garage while her car sits outside! Any help greatly appreciated

Some times the best things for boys is good toys! Sounds like you have a good start! The backhoe will cost more than the rest of the tools you have listed together. ....

dedeye you ask an awful lot in one little post.
I'm not sure about your priorities but me thinks the "to make things worse ..." is where I'd begin. My buddies wife finially had enough of the toys and her car sitting out. Her car is inside again. His big red toy is in and his truck is in the snowbank. But she did explain the facts of life and something about a livin hell...
First I guess I'd look at snow removal because blade can also be used to move dirt. But maybe your wife is the forgiving type and will also shovel the driveway.
Box blades can work for snow and work great for dirt. My first scraper was a 4' box scraper bought used from a rental place less than half of a new one.
Second was a brush hog type cutter.
I've had small tractors for over 15 years b4 I got a backhoe. So I have most all of the attachments I have needed. I can think of some stuff I want for brush but I guess I'll stick with pushing it up in a pile in the hedgerow.

I held out for the love of my new tractor as long as I could! My race truck is outside, My 69 Mustang is outside and more importantly my TRACTOR is outside and it is snowing as I write but it does seem a lot warmer in the house tonight! ....

I think your first attachment should be a post hole digger
Why? You ask. To starting setting the posts for the pole barn you need to build out back to put all your toys in. Note there is a discussion on this site and a link to a place to get blue prints.
Just a thought for a way to attempt to return that humble bliss to the house hold.

I don't know what they cost, but I've heard of guys buying or renting those gigantic shipping containers (the ones they use on ships and trains). Seems like a quick way to get a vehicle out of the weather until a more permanent structure can be built. I think Mark used one to move his tractor down from AK. ....

Careful dedeye with putting the wife out, when the divorce comes she will be driving the 'stang parking it in the garage and would have sold your tractor and race truck to buy her new boyfriend a nice car all the while living in your house. I've seen it done before!!!!! I know you're just kidding, but I thought I'd have some fun!!
As far as implements, it depends on what you are wanting to do. I would balance my needs with cost. A box blade isn't too expensive, nor is a rotary cutter, post hole digger or rake. The backhoe, tiller & snowblower are getting to be pricey items. I would love to have a backhoe to play with, but can't justify the cost for no more than I NEED it for(notice the word need not want).

I bought one of those temporary garages you see everywhere in a feable attempt to provide some shelter for the tractor but as luck would have it by the time I got around to setting it up the ground was frozen. Undaunted by this small inconvienience I set it up and nailed its feet to some old 2X8 planking I had kicking around. The next day we had a terrible storm which my luck being what it is included gail force winds but thats o.k. I've got this thing figured to take a 50 mph wind . To my surprise as of darkness my poor mans garage was still standing, However again refering to my luck it was to be short lived as when daybreak came the laughter coming from my wife in the kitchen told me without even looking that the wind had reached 51 mph...........Sad you know when you have to look your number one supporter in her tear filled eyes and admit... well you know the rest of the story......
I will check into one of those shipping containers.
If the wind blows my tractor away parked in one of those things I was not meant to have one. ....
