I just got a scam e-mail from some Dip Stick in the UK who apparantly got my address from this site. Any body else getting spammed with this crud ? I sincerely hope there is no one stupid enough on this site to fall for a chessy scam like that.

I kept getting spammed with some very vile crude and I am sure it was not someone using the board. I am careful not to use my address and Dennis has a bogus Tractorpoint address listed for me to ensure that I don't get any more.
It is a shame that such a great technology for people to help others and share information can be polluted by scum. Makes me long for the days when it was open only for researchers. Not really I like the content available now. Just like a big city you need to be careful. ....

Ya, You do have to be carefull. I used to get on the Garden web when I was looking for info on chainsaws Etc. It used to be a really nice place. I made the Mistake of useing my e-mail address as my hanlde, Da. Some Jokester Too my handle and did their techie magic and staterd posting about some dog shooting in the pets forum. I got Really nasty Warnings from some cat named spike who I gues is the web master. spike and I didn't quite agree and and well, I've been bared from there. I cried for a week. I was kicked out a time or two on spring break but out of a Forum,lol. Well I guess its just the 21 st century version of "is your refrigerator running ?". LOL ....

Here is some help with the E-mail boosters. Go to www.hotmail.com Set up a servie e-mail acount (bogus name, address, hair color, etc.) Check it every 120 days to keep it active. Its free. Use it for any survey, forms, crap e0mail memership entry point on web pages, etc. Use your real (Keep it clean) regular e-mail for your known e-mailer fan club. I work with computers. I Use the bogus one more than my protected one. This will help with the spammers, junk mail, IRS, lawsuits, what ever. Hope you find this usefull ....

Thanks Jim, I have avoided getting a second account but that sounds like a good reason to get one.
To date I have avoided getting many viruses or junk mail as I am fairly judicious as to what I surf or sign up for.
If I get E-mails from something that I don't know about I simply delete it. ....
