I have made the decision to buy a splitter. Going to go with a PTO pump rather than tie into the tractor hydraulics. Wanted to know what is the most reliable splitter from you that have and use them. I have a 4300 JD. I have seen many different types but wanted to get it straight from the horse!

I suppose this isn't very helpful, but I don't believe that I've heard of anybody who's had a 3ph splitter fail. Hydraulic problems yes, but splitters themselves seem to be pretty reliable and durable. I don't know all the ins and outs but I think vertical models are easier to load, which is something to consider. ....

Hi I made a 3-pt log splitter and am considering selling it. It has a prince 25gpm pump with a 4x24 cylinder and a 23 gallon fully custom aluminum reservior(best heat dissipation). It is the nicest and best built log splitter you will ever see. Seriously it is awsome. I am running it on an 870 (same as the 4300). Let me know if you are interestred.
Thanks
