My Dad and I just purchased a 790 and I am need some advise on a couple things... #1 I stopped by a local dealership to price the work light kit.
they quoted me for the lights ($36) and a wiring harness ($4). Do I need both of these or do the lights come with the correct harness?
#2 - What service manual do i need to purchase? they told me the owners manual would have all the info that i would need. I want to have good
in structions for doing routine service and such.

any help would be appreciated

You do need both the light kit and the harness. As far as the manual, the operators manual covers all the routine maintenance and adjustments. If you plan to get into more in depth repairs, you should consider buying a technical manual. The part number for it is TM1470. It covers all of the 70 series from 670 to 1070 as well as the 790 and 990. Good luck ....

When I bought my lights from J.D. I didn't need the harness kit . The 790 has the harness made for lights on both the left and right fenders and the connector on the lights plugs in to the factory harness on either or both sides.

Jim ....
