Can anyone tell me if it is possible to install a 3 cyl Perkins diesel into a Kubota L3830D and will the Kubota trans match up? The Kubota currently has the 3 cyl motor in it which is blown. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I seriously doubt that's ever been done. Now if you have access to a machine shop, are well versed in welding/ fabrication and mechanical engineering, then yours just might be the first one.
In all honesty, there is nothing those two engines have in common other than the cylinder count.

Thanks Imfedup, I was pretty sure it was not going to be an easy swap but I have an excellent running Massey Ferguson 235, with power steering problems. I have already put $1000 in new parts and just thought it might be a solution to my problems. ....

Describe your power steering problems. Repairing that will no doubt be far simpler than an engine swap. ....

Sorry for the delay in responding but do to medical prob ( it’s a bitch to get old) my trouble with my steering is the pump overheats in just a matter of minutes. I replaced the pump, hose’s, ram and other parts in the steering. I know there have been problems wit steering on the MF 235 Could the adjustment on the Ram be causing this.
Thanks Gary ....

The power steering on the 235 is well known for problems that are difficult to impossible correct. No argument there.
I believe if it were mine I would approach trading the steering out long before the engine swap thing. Much less work and fabrication. I would look at a unit from 135 possibly. It would involve changing the transmission shift cover and probably some other mods as well. Having never done it, I don't know what all the obstacles might be. Another option might be hydrostatic steering from a 240 or 245 but that would include a different front axle to accommodate external cylinders. No easy way out there. ....
