I own an '03 2210 and am considering moving up to a new 2520. Is it worth the $8000 I was quoted to gain a bit in size and get position control?

What would you like the 2520 to do that the 2210 won't do?
I haven't studied them a lot recently but i think a 2520 is basicly a 4410 with a new dress. I did own a 4410, 35hp., for a couple years, it was a good machine, but really couldn't do much more than the 4310, 32hp., I have now. I think the 4310 is now a 3320.
I'm not sure what you mean about position control? Something to do with the three point I'm guessing.
I'm totally out of contact with tractor prices so I can't offer any advice on the 8000.00 trade price, that will be up to your wallet.

Yes, position control allows me to set the 3 pt to a particular height. THat's not available on my 2210. My machine does 90% of what I want, but I haven't bought a tractor in 7 years and I've got the "itch". ....

I was wrong.
I was thinking of the 3XXX series thsat replaced the prior 4XXX series.
Sorry, I need to start over, The 2520 isn't a lot bigger than your 2210. So I guess it's up to you how bad you want to scratch tha new tractor itch. I'd have a hard time spending 8000.00 for a position control. My 4310 just has a lever in a long slot that I manually control the heigth of the three point, maybe there is some new system that automaticly controls it, I don'r know

I have no idea the type of lift control your JD has but will share a thought on something used on old Fords that might solve you issue. The old Fords had a lift that would jump every few seconds or many did. Terrible when plowing a crop. Locally they develop what they called skids which were bolted to the cultivator and adjustable heights slides on them and the lift would be fully lowered with the slides (not skids) supporting the plow. Worked very well. Sort of like the skids on a tiller. ....

Thanks for the tip. My landscape rake has adjustable guide wheels that perform the same way. They work great! I miss the control mostly when I use my scraper blade and box blade.
As for the missing 10% it is mostly an ego trip in wanting lift more with the loader and 3 pt. My dealer suggests making two trips with the loader instead of one - he's right of course. But the itch still itches!!
I guess I'll continue to poke around and maybe that surprise deal that's too good to pass up will emerge.
