I'm looking for opinions on a 1997 L2350D tractor with FEL and soft cab and heator with 350 hours. Does anyone have any opinion on this model It is 23-1/2 hp 4 cyl standard tranny.

I'm not sure what kind of information you're looking for, or what you would be using this tractor for, so it's sort of hard to answer, but here's my take on it.

It's a 'Bota, so within reason it's going to fairly bullet-proof and reliable.

It's a well-proven unit with no known problems.

IMHO it's a funny sized class of machine, it's a small, big tractor. It's too big physically to be considered a sub-compact, but it's too low a hp rating to be a 'big' tractor.

Don't get me wrong, it's capable of doing some serious work, but it's just not IMHO opinion up to the serious muscle jobs it's size makes it look like it should.

As an example, it probably weighs (including the FEL) about 3,000 pounds, and has 25hp. So it weighs about 120 pounds / horsepower. By comparison, a B2620 has 26hp and weighs about 2,000 (again including an FEL). That equates to 77 pounds / horsepower. So on a power-to-weight ratio, the B2620 has about a 55% advantage.

I only bring this up because if, for instance, you are buying the machine primarily for turf work and a hobby machine around the homestead, a 1,000 pound weight reduction will make a big difference in cutting ability and soil compaction.

Thanks Murf, those are very good points. I use my tractor for the very basic farm work, hauling gravel or stuff in the bucket, post hole drilling, back blading, bush hogging, manure spreading you know basic chores. I don't attempt to dig holes with the bucket. It looks very similar to my B2150 in size and HP. ....

Setting up ag tractors we look for the 110 to 130 lbs per horsepower for optimum efficiency of pulling loads.

For what your needs seem to be it is weighted well. We do look for the seventy lb rule for lawn work!

Thanks, I do not mow lawns with my tractor I have a zero turn Ferris for that. My dealer is coming tommorow to pick up my B2150 to change fluids and take a look to see if there is any internal damage. I really love this tractor. The L looks to be the same tractor regarding size HP number of cyl's etc.
