What new Kubota tractor is the comparable model to a L2850 DT? I am looking at replacing my 1980's L2850 with a BF 500 loader for a new/newer Kubota and I am not sure what a comparable model is today.

Duke,
If I'm not mistaken, your L2850 has a 34hp engine.
A new Kubota, with the same horsepower rating, would be the L3400.

The 2850 was a deluxe model at the time it was built and I believe you should stick with a deluxe model for a new tractor over the standard tractors. The L3540 would be a good replacement for your 2850. Is your 2850 a glideshift or DT? The new glideshifts are a great option with the 12 speeds forward. ....

Thanks Art,
I think I would be affraid to even price a new L3540 with a loader. The sticker shock would probably cause me the big one. It could cause me to review my getting rid of my perfectly good L2850. Mt is a DT and the glide shift would be nice. Do you know the going price for the L3540 with a loader?
Thanks again,
Earl ....

I like the large flat decks on the new ones vs the humps in the middle. Even the new DT versions are nice shifting but a nice option with the hydro is the six speeds to work from to maintain more power under load.
You tractor looks about as good as you might find for a used one as it looks quite clean and straight. ....

I actually painted the tractor this year and it does look good and some people are interested in it. So that is why I am looking to get a newer tractor when I let this one go. This L2850 has been good to me with almost "0" problems.

Art,
The bio is correct; I do only have two acres. Originally I had a JD 650 and it was the perfect size for what I needed to do, but I had some projects that I needed a loader for and I could not find a loader for the JD (Yanmar). So I sold the JD, made some money on it, and then ran across the L2850 pretty beat up cosmetically, but at the right price so I bought it. I have now finished those projects so this size tractor is not needed, however I do not want to give up the loader. I do stand to make some money on disposing of the Kubota since it does look better than new, but any replacement I get I want a loader and I am not really sure what to look for in a tractor. The only thing I am pretty sure about it the replacement tractor would have to have a loader, be able to run a 4 foot bush hog, post hole digger, and be one of the major brands, JD-Kubota-Yanmar.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Earl

Earl,
You've got a lot of models to pick from that will suit your needs perfectly.
Since 5ft implements are much easier to find on the used market, I sometimes wish I had the extra horses offered in the Kubota B7610.
The Kubota B Series tractors are simply unbeatable for dependability, simplicity, and durability.
Try one on for size. I highly recommend them.
If not the Kubota, you might want to take a look at the new Cub Cadet / Yanmar EX3200. More horsepower in a tractor of the same size as the Kubota B Series.

Joel makes a good point for simplicity and durability as I like both! I might also want to look at the BX24 for what might be left as well as future growth. I still want more, lets look at the new models B that are due out his spring with three range hydro's! ....

Thanks Guys for your recommendations. I did go look at that new Cub Cadet/Yanmar. I am hooked. That is one nice tractor and smaller than my Kubota for around the house. I had two Yanmars before and have nothing but good things to say about them.
