Is there any type of cab enclosure that I can put on my L3830 where I can use the LA723 loader and joy stick that I currently own? Are they very hard to put on the tractor? Do the enclosures work OK or do I need to trade my tractor for a tractor with a factory cab?

There are cabs that will work just fine on the L-series Kubota. The most common are Sims and Curtis which offer cabs with good visibility and options like heat to keep the windows defrosted. You can also find cheaper cabs that are like windbreakers of years past that are just the vinyl covering a tube frame from comfort although they don't offer any heating solutions and are a very universal fit often blocking much of your visibility. You can also find cabs that are ROPS and FOPS protection but by that time you can normally buy a factory cab for the same money. ....

For Art White. Which cab, Sims or Curtis, has the best fit on the tractor? Can they both accomodate the joy stick for my loader which is mounted on the right side of the hood/dash? Do they both take about the same amount of effort to install on the tractor? I am looking at the soft sided cab due to cost. ....

I'd say the best buy for you would be the Curtis. ....

Grassgod,

It appears as though the Curtis cabs fit well and accommodate the loader valves nicely.

See the picture link below.

They do have the provision for the joystick lever to come throught the front of the cab if needed. When setting tractors up I often go to the cab valve which would be on the right side of the cab inside. ....

Joel, that pic only shows the 40 series which comes with a factory valve on the right side fender. It is very much the same as the later 30 series cab or current cab for the 30 series. ....
