Does anyone out there have their own website?

I did through my old provider that I built with FrontPage. Now I'm on Charter cable and they won't deal with FP. Does anyone have any recommendations for me, keeping in mind I'm not all that smart. I know nothing of HTML programming, but need to build with an HTML editor and an FTP poster (whatever the heck all that is).

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure you can't use Frontpage? I think there's a way to turn off Frontpage extensions and have it generate standard html. Various providers object to using those extensions. I'm no expert though, my web site stinks so much I'm reluctant to post the URL :) ....

I use Frontpage also: As you know some servers will not support all of the bells and whistles that Frontpage uses so you may wanna check first. My server will not support them either but as Ken said its a couple of clicks to alter.

Here are 2 of the sites I have:
www dot briarpatchknits dot com
www dot countryacrespetservice dot com

Front page is more universal for the different browsers, I am very surprised they don't accept Front page.
I had a 180 page websie that I did for my store and originally used Visual Page. What I found was even though Visual Page advertised WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) If I looked at my site with Netscape (which I use) it looked awesome, then if I looked using Internet Explorer, it became all crunched and my images and text were no longer where they should be.
Front Page is suppose to be universal by all Browsers and I was unaware that a Server can tell you what to use. I used WFtp to download onto my site and I did all of my own editing etc. I will offer this advie, learn to use TABLES for your pages and insert your Images and Text using cells of these tables, if need be put a table in a table in a table and do so as many times as you need. That way you are sure to keep it all the way you want to be for all Browsers.
Good lUck
I would find another Server to host your site. ....
