I own a B7100d and I am having clutch problems.I have tried the freeplay adjustments to no avail.I can push on clutch pedal and sometimes it will not dis-engage clutch plate,at other times it will dis-engage and then re-engage while the clutch pedal is down,roaring and vibrating the whole time. Any suggestions? Anybody ever replace one of these clutch assemblies?

Sounds like the disc came apart. The clutch isn't that hard to replace if you got a good handle on meachanics. Just split the tractor were needed and replace it. Don't forget the release and pilot bearings and if the flywheel has any blemishes get it resurfaced. ....

Sounds to me like the clutch on your tractor may be "stuck" or seized on the trans. input shaft. Most optimistic case is that with continued and frequent use; the clutch will free up and behave as normal. As already stated; the other scenario is that you will have to split the tractor and replace the clutch, pressure plate, and have the fly wheel resurfaced. Try and see if you can work through the clutch problems and if it starts working right; especially if you just purchased this tractor used and it has been setting for a prolonged period. The owner's manual states in most machines that the clutch pedal is supposed to be set with a block of wood to partically depress the clutch so it will not become binded to the fly wheel during storage. Even it that is done; the clutch can become seized on the trans. input shaft if the machine sets for prolong periods. With luck; sometime this condition can be overcome with regular use. Don't bet the ranch on it. ....

This wouldn't be a probable cause, but since it happened to me, it is possible. If the clutch is assembled backwards in the machine, the rivets will eventually engage the pressure plate and not release properly. There are two sides to the clutch plate, and you have to be carefull which way it is installed. Mine was installed backwards on the asembly line and after about 130 hrs of use, it stopped dis-engaging properly.
The remedy is the same, split the tractor and replace the clutch plate, and assemble it properly. ....

If it has a hydraulic clutch mechanism I'd lay my money on the slave cylinder having bad seals.
This is a fairly common problem on Ford 1 tons.
The seals in the slave cylinder go, allowing the fluid to escape around the piston, this allows the clutch to engage without releasing the pedal. Other times it either doesn't fully disengage or even move at all.
Some people just pour the reservoir full of Lucas Power Steering oil, but it's not great in cold weather and is only a band-aid anyway.
Pull the inspection cover if there is one, and have a look at what it's doing.
