I am not up much on NH tractors but a few things to check that come to mind are possibly a loose wire connection or a bad/intermittent glow plug relay. The relay is more than likely on the fuse panel. Try turning on the glow plugs and tapping on the relay and see if they come on. Trace your wires down to verify connections. Look for pinched wires, loose connectors, corroded connectors, etc. Mice get into the darnest things this time of year looking for a warm kozie spot. Never know. Good luck. AC5ZO has a NH tractor; I am sure he will jump in here with more and probably better info. than I have. ....

Many of the newer tractors have relays in the system. We have one in the process of checking it out as soon as it hits the shop. The customer said he has changed both relays in the system but it still could be the key switch. ....

I'd identify the relay winding hot side contacts, disconnect it and use a voltmeter to see if it's getting voltage when the plugs aren't working. Try tapping and jiggling the starter switch too. The relay winding circuit likely goes through the switch and a bad switch sounds like a good candidate for an intermittent problem. ....

I'm not really up on those Blue machines either, but I'd be looking for a temp. sensor. We had this problem a while back too with our newer machines, there was a faulty temp. sensor which is supposed to tell the glow plug relay how long to stay on, or if to even come on at all. It was sending a bad signal (or the wire was just not making contact) and so the glow plug relay thought the engine was at running temp. all the time.
Best of luck. ....
