Ok i have narrowed it down to a standard grade JD mmm, but I cannot decide, 60" or 72". In the JD brochure it says the 4310 tractor is 50 in wide. So on paper this would leave 5" on both sides of the wheels, however I will be getting turf tires. Would the 60" be enough width to be wider than the tires? I will be mowing mostly on a subdivison road and I want the mower to over hang a little because I can't have the tires hanging off the curb to mow the edge of the road. Thank you for your input. John

I had a 4310 with the 60" MMM for about a year. I recently traded for a 4410. I changed to the 72" MMM as I took on more mowing. I find I can mow closer to things with the extra width on both sides. I mow along a ditch and with the 60" I could only get so close. With the 72" It hangs out over and cuts right to the edge. For me the 72" deck is a better fit for this size tractor. I do find places I used to be able to mow between and now I can't. I picked up a nice JD 322 lawn and garden tractor to solve some of those issues.

I agree with Craig. Get the 72" mmm. The extra over lap of the tires makes cutting much easier and you can cover alot more area faster. I have the 72" mmm on my 4410 but I have the R-4 tires which must be wider as I have some but not alot of tire over lap. ....
