4x6 belt issue

anyone have any idea how to minimize belt slippage when encountering water. I use my diesel gator for atv type camping and would like to add to its creek fording ability. I have a fab shop and equip. for most projects so any ideas would help

Just thinking out loud here since I have never seen one of those belt drives....
A friction belt drive seems like it's a poor design for use in water. Would it be possible to either replace it with a toothed belt or a hefty and well greased chain drive? ....

I'm sure you know there are clutch enclosure kits available for the HPX and XUV, but there is just no room to adapt a kit to the 6x4. ....

gatoraider, i have seen the covers but cant make one work for my 4x4. Was wondering if maybe some kind of pedal/hand actuated tensioner might work or would it just open up the drive clutch pulley? Also would a that have the effect of pulling the belt further down into drive clutch effectively lowering the gear ratio and thus reducing the load on the belt? ....

kwschumm, the belt is an integral part of the clutch and the drive ratio. Not my fave desigh but its what JD gave us ....
