What is a clodbuster? A auction I am going to on friday states they have a cultipacker but when I talked to the owner he say's the auction comp. made a mistake, he said it actually is more like a clod buster? Said its 8' long and around 500 pounds give or take. I only found one pick of one on the net. Was wondering if there are different versions or interpretaions of a clodbuster over the years?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thankyou
Tom

Tom, the basic difference is that a cultipacker is designed to run behind the cultivator and smooth and slightly pack the soil to ensure optimimum germination.

A clodbuster, as the name implies, is not designed to do compacting or smoothing per se, but instead to break up any 'clods' of dirt into a very fine smooth seedbed free of large clumps.

Best of luck. ....

LOL
And thanks
You should see what comes up when you do a search for clod buster!
Turns out I am going to finish out the week instead of going to that auction. I want a cultipacker and I know I will bid on that clod buster if I go so I may as well not go. Although I like the idea of anouther impliment like that! Hmmm
I am gettin laid off for a few weeks startin tomarroo! YEAAAAAA HAHHHHHHH. Cant wait! No work for the tool room this year during annual shut down! Ususally we are swamped with repairs and pm's. And it always is like 100 deg. soaked in sweat and old grease from the pm's. I wont miss this one!!!!! As it turns out the senior men (30+ years) will have to work because of contract language that they lost! HA HA LOL. Wont be me this year!
AM I BAD??????
LMAO ....

Tom, bad no, a little too over-joyed perhaps, a little too gloating maybe, but bad? Noooooooooo, perish the thought.

LOL, enjoy the time off and the machine time.

Best of luck. ....

Thanks Murf, I have had 2 weeks vacation a year or less for the last 7 years with logging an average of 600 hours overtime a year (being brought down only by the last 2 years otherwise it would be closer to 700. I know I deserve it but cant seem to stop smileing! LOL
Last time I was unemployed by layoff was in 1984 so I have been lucky, and in that year I met my wife so I wanted to impress her and took anouther job instead of sitting in a tree stand and enjoying it. (Now that was stupid)
Thanks again for your vote of confidence and if your in the area some day let me know I would love to play a round of golf with you! ....
