What is the right "non flammable solvent" that Kubota refers to for cleaning the HST transmission strainer? Use some of the drained UDT fluid?

Here is an EPA article on parts cleaners, looks like Mineral Spirits is somewhat more affordable option unless you own a big shop. ....

We use really high tech stuff.
It is called diesel fuel.
