So the LB1914 need a starter I think. I tired of jumping the solenoid to get the tractor going. Or could I just need a new solenoid . I clean the contact pull the solenoid clean it up, but then there are times it will just work fine, turn the key and bingo it works like it should the tractor starts right up. So if I do need a starter or solenoid there can one be purchase ? Thanks

i have the lb2404 and the thermal fuse before the starter was burned looking and corroded and was causing issues,also make sure the ground to frame from the battery is clean and tight.i order all my parts online or ,just saw yours for 380 or try michigan iron and parts or tractor joes ....

Really not much to a solenoid, it needs lots of juice to work so like Tip said check for corrosion everywhere even your battery terminals. ....

so I'm still jumping the solenoid on the 1914, after looking at the starter for removal ,it looks like I have to remove the front dash to get to the bolts ? Is this true ? Or should I be able to remove it from the front of the starter ? Any wisdom would be very helpful ....

So I finally got down on my knees and got the starter off of the tractor. It involved removing the foot plate ? and the bolts on the side of the dash so I could see the bolt heads. I took the starter to get rebuild. It turn out it was the solenoid. I will install the starter today and see what happens. ....

Sounds like it is not too hard to get at unlike today's transverse mounted auto engines. Hope it works out smooth. ....

Well after getting the starter back in and charging the battery the tractor still did not start. So when all else fails read the manual. Starter safety switch ? one turn of the adjuster and ZOOM it started !!!! And started and started !!! So I pulled in the barn and started changing fluids . ....
