I found a spot under the seat of my 4100 that will hold extra linch pins, gloves, chainsaw tool, garage door opener remote, cell phone, etc. I cut a metal 1 gallon can length ways and it nicely fits. It does not interfere with the seat interlock switch or safety bail. I will probably make a wooden box to fit some day, but in the mean time, this works fine. See the picture at the URL below.

Good solution Duane. It's always nice to see the picture of the finished product.

A good solution, and a useful one. I tend to throw things in the loader. More than once, I've forgotten things in the bucket and gone ahead and used the loader. Haven't lost or destroyed anything yet, but it sure is aggravating.
Another storage solution I heard of was a guy who used short sections of 4" of 6" PVC drain. He put caps on the bottoms and secured them to the ROPS vertical bars. Great for screw drivers etc. I suppose it could get fancy by adding screw on tops.

I have scratched a bald spot on my head trying to figure a way to make a "glove box" on my 4100. Good work. Now if we can figure out a way to keep its contents dry while the seat is tipped up we will have a better mouse trap. ....

Mark, maybe a cover for the seat would be easier! I guess the wooden box with a cover would be one solution. Sorry about the bald spot. I think my kids gave me mine, along with the gray hair and a couple of other ailments.

Mark, when you referred to keeping the contents dry, where you talking about the bald spot or the tool box?

I would suggest an ammo box from your local army surplus, unfortunately you might need to remove it to access the latch. I guess you would not necessarily need to latch it?

Mrwurm: keeping the seat tipped up is only considered to be good manners when one is discussing tractors. When it comes to bathroom fixtures in the night we have another story. As for the bald spot, God gave us baseball caps, when one can find a size eight or so.
Peters: we only have a depth of three or four inches. Ok.. Ok.. Mrwurm, I know what you are thinking. ....

On to plan B.
Whats - waterproof case ~ 5 " high ~ 12 inches long and ? width.
Try a pelican case. These are used by EMS, firefighers and camera people. They are rugged and durable but cost$$. But so does the green tractor. Hence not the first suggestion.
See link below ....
