I have found a 2003 790 John Deere Tractor with a JD 419 Loader and 216 hours. This Equipment looks clean and in very good shape. What would be a fair price for this Tractor with Loader, and how much is too much to pay? It will be Auctioned at an Estate sell, so may go reasonable, may not.
Thanks,
Doug.

Doug,

I just checked the offerings at TractorHouse.com and found many 790s with a loader for sale.

There's one 2003 model listed for $15,500.

At auction, you should expect to pay a price in the low teens.

See the link below.

Make sure you try it on for size before buying. That model has a very small operator space. ....

Thanks for the reply's. I went to the Auction this morning at 10 A.M. The 790 looked clean and well cared for. By 12 P.M., the Auctioner was still selling dishes, clothes, etc. 1 piece at a time. I inquired when the 790 would be auctioned, was told when everything else was gone, it would be last. 2Hrs. to sell 1/6 th. the stuff, meant the tractor would sell about 8 P.M. Gave up, went home, Oh well.:-( Thanks for the reply's, still watching for a Tractor.
Thanks,
Doug. ....

When we had our farm auction in August of 04 it started at 9:30 with two auctioneers selling on seperate hayracks of small stuff then small stuff, spare parts, tools, on pallets, etc. till two in the afternoon then as it was stated on the salebills they stopped all the small stuff and sold the main line of machenery, then back and finished up on the nickle dime stuff. The people wanting to buy big tractors, combines, etc. don't want to wait around for the junk to sell. The auctioneers must have known what they were talking about as the sale brought much more than we ever dreamed of, even the junk. Frank. ....

That's the difference in Auctioneer's. At this Auction, I am sure they lost some potential Bidder's who did not want to wait all day.
