I am new to this forum and in need of some advice. I have a Mitsubishi D2000, the PTO is stuck in the up position and makes this aweful noise. I would not describe the noise as grinding, but its rather loud. Anyway after a day or 2 of siting it will lower itself and once I start it it raises in the up position and will not lower. Does anyone know what might be the problem on this tractor? And if I need to add fluid, where is the plug to do so? Thanks

I gotta guess you are referring to the 3ph. its possible that the handle was or is misadjusted or has slipped on the shaft. if the lever is stuck is it apparent what is sticking? If not try forcing it down. ....

With it making the noise doubt it is this simple but your lift lever linkage could be rusted in place. It may need a good oiling. Don't be afraid to spray all linkage even shafts where they enter the tractor. kt ....

Greg is probably close. Could be inside valve metal shavings etc. But that makes the most sense for a place to start. ....

I had the same/similar problem with the 1300, turns out I had to remove the lift section, force out the piston and clean & hone the cylinder and piston, then clean out the valve module, I replaced the 2 o-rings too.
moisture had been getting in at the shifter, I remade a boot for that. the moisture was most of the problem, causing crud and rust in the cylinder that jammed it .... ....
