Where are the Threads going

I am still having problems with the Notifications, however as of late, I receive a notice from "someone" responding to a posted thread that I have responded to, only to realize that I have NO IDEA,(no trail) back to which posting the thread originated from or who might have responded to me.

When I enter the CTB for responding, there is no record of me posting. What gives?
