What does it mean when I see in some post 1,2,3,ect. filter by user?

If you click on it, it will filter out all other posts on that thread other than that poster. ....

I see how it works now but don't quite understand it. I just made a post and it put that I had 2 filters. I don't know why it did that and how do you remove that?

Hi LeeJohn,
The filter by user is meant to be used on super long message threads so that if you were chatting with say "Murf" on a 50 message thread instead of having to page thru 5 pages to see only the messages you and he posted, you just hit filter by user next to Murf and it shows you just your messages and Murf's messages without all the static of other peoples content.
When you are done you hit "return to full" to return to all messages.
The "2 filter by User" in your name block gives you the number of messages that you posted in the Thread, if there are only 10 messages in the thread, it is of little value to do the filter.
