Hello, I have a question about tractor tires. I'm using a tractor I inherited, the tires are probably 20 years old. It seems to get stuck allot, especially on any incline. The tires spin and dig holes, and that makes it get stuck worse. I'm working in loose/hard clay and topsoil, not mud or soaking wet soil.
Are my tires worn out? I'm not sure how tall the lugs were when new, they measure 1" above the surface of the tire. Also, there is water in the tires for ballast, but I'm not sure how much. Is there a recommended amount of water to put in a tire?
The tires are bias ply, 14.9 x 24. Don't know about R1, R4 etc.

Thanks

Cookster, the easiest way would be for you to have a look at the link below. Find the tires you have and compare the spec.'s of the new tire to yours.

Best of luck. ....
