Is a Ford 1700, 1025 hrs, tiller, rear mower, blade, spreader worth $5000? The tractor runs good and has no apparent problems. It is two wheel drive with manual transmission. I am a little concerned with the age and I still need a loader. I plan to use the tractor for mowing 2+ acres and landscaping work. The owner bought the blade for snow but I think the turf tires spun pretty bad without chains.

Probably not a bad price for the package, but it's not for you. 2WD/turfs/loader is not a good combo, and at $8000 combined for the tractor w/new loader, your'e too close to paying for something better. You don't mention power steering, and I'd bet the 1700 doesn't have it. Another big reason to walk away. Not only a real bear to drive with a loader, but the manual steering box just won't handle the torque you will be sending down the steering shaft. ....
