I just got a new speeco log splitter. It has a open center valve in it, but also came with a closed center valve. What's the application for a closed center valve?

The two valves are so that it is a universal application unit.

Some tractor manufacturers use closed center systems, some use open center.

I haven't hooked it up yet, probably this weekend. I guess what I need to know is how do I know which valve I need for a Foton 404? ....

It's not likely your system is a closed center design.

It warmed up today a little so I hooked the splitter up. The book showed the pressure and return hook-ups backwards, other than switching those it works great. I split some with ease that my gas engine splitter wouldn't touch. Really happy with this! ....

After I hooked the splitter up and ran it a bit I checked the hydrulic box level. I had to add a gallon of fluid and it was full before I started. I was surprised how much it took to prime the splitter. ....
