I have installed a 12v auto stereo on my JD 5310 and would like to pigtail a stero headphone jack to the unit so I can use headphones to cut down on noise as well as listen to the radio. Any one have any knowledge as how to do this? Any help on this unusual tractor post wuold be greatly appreciated.

Check the instructions that came with the stereo, you MUST have a "line level" output, i.e. an unpowered output since the headphones require almost no power at all to blast you silly with the volume. If you don't have this output, most units today do have one to feed an amplifier, or equalizer, you will have to find a pair of "high power" headphones. Best of luck. ....

Go to a store like Radio Shack, they have stero headphone jacks. Run a speaker wire to each of the terminals. When you plug in the earphones the speakers will be disconnected. Directions will probably be included. Simple procedure. ....
