Anyone know how many hours you can expect from these newer style twin cyliners gas jobs? I have a 22hp Kohler Command on my 52" Great Dane Zero turn. It's been kept up and still runs like new. I heard you can pull 3,000 hours out of these engines if you change the oil on time. Anyone up that high?

I've had plenty of "K" series Kohlers last for ever. My 1986 wheel horse 414-8 14 horse still runs like the day I bought it in 1985. Not too sure about the "cast iron lined" ones?

How was it running at 1400? This thing runs like new at 999.2 hours. I'm chewing on keeping it or dumpling it. It's bought and paid for. I figure if I can get another 1,000 out of it it is probably worth keeping. It's a Great Dane Chariot riding mower. What a well built machine. ....

I have a riding mower (AYP) with a Kohler Command 20hp. I bought it new in 1999 and use it hard. Still runs like brand new. My previous rider with a Briggs blew a rod after six years.

I don't know how far you can run them in total, but I know the Kohler's on our Ferris Pro Cut's sure have a lot of hours on them.

We generally run them about 1,500 per year and rebuild over the winter. After the second rebuild but before their run again, at about 3,000 hours, we sell them, usually to homeowners. There are lots of people around here with machines they bought from us over the years that are still running strong at 4,000 plus hours, but that is after being freshened up at least twice.

I have a friend who does strictly grass cutting, he has Pro Cuts with well over 3,000 hours on them that still work hard every day.

Like any other machine, if you look after it, it will look after you.

Best of luck. ....
