I'm looking at a '97 NH 1725 w/7308 FEL. The tractor has 155 hours priced at $13,000. Its very clean!
Does the price seem reasonable? Were there any major problems on these tractors I should look out for? Should I consider having a mechanic look it over before purchase?

The 1725 is essentually the same as a new TC30 with less power. NH is selling the TC30 as a discount tractor in the boomer line. If you look at the thread 1210 vs TC30. You will see that dealers are selling TC30 with 4x and hydro for 14K. The shuttle is more like 13K.
Is the 1725 a good deal? ....

The NH 1725 is the same as the TC29, not the TC30. It is the first generation BOOMER. It looks the same, drives the same, just missing a feature or two. I know, I have a 1998 1725 and it is for sale (We bought a NH TN55 because we bought a bigger place). The $13,000 sounds a little high. I have mine priced at $12,500 with a 5' box blade and 300 hours. ....

$13K sounds high; you should look at http://www.machinerylink.com/resources/uevg/default.asp for quick check on valuations (doesn't take loader into consideration). The 1725 is a great starter tractor for small/medium tasks on a small farm IMO. I also have my 1725 for sale as I've gotten a larger tractor since we've gotten more acreage and I'm needing more power these days. Mine is $11K with FEL, bushhog/plow; 340 hours. ....
