I looked at a used New Holland TC45A for 14,500 with 500 hrs. When turning sharp the front wheels would bind up, also there was some noticable slack between forward and reverse in the drive train and at about 1000 RPM when idling the RPM's would continually surge up and down. When letting out the clutch to go it was kind of jumpy. Is this normal for this tractor.

To make a short answer no. Sounds like that unit was beat pretty good. I would walk away from that one. ....
