I looked at a used New Holland TC45A for 14,500 with 500 hrs. When turning sharp the front wheels would bind up, also there was some noticable slack between forward and reverse in the drive train and at about 1000 RPM when idling the RPM's would continually surge up and down. When letting out the clutch to go it was kind of jumpy. Is this normal for this tractor.

I have had mine for a grand total of 1.9 hours I'm still on the honeymoon but one thing about the loader is if you slap the joy stick forward it locks in place (releasing the cylinder pressure) automatically dropping the bucket all the way to the gound sort of automatic for easy loading. I don't know if this is common for other loaders or not.

Just one more thing to add to this. It appears that John Deere has dropped the list prices on most of thier tractors. I bought my tractor on a friday and monday they dropped the prices. When I went back and complained they offered a $1000.00 dollars additional off even though the total drop on my package was $1800.00 bringing the cost of my tractor to approx $19000.00 total. I accepted this but was not feeling so good about the whole thing. Anyway I'm still going to have fun with it.

I went back to one of the dealers with the used tractors and they would not or could not come close to the price I got from my local dealer on a NEW one so I bought it new from my local dealer. (see my other post about John Deere verses Kubota)
