have mt372 dont know what the 3 pto settings do or which one it needs to be in with mower or tiller

If that's a grey-market Japanese (Mitsubishi?) you have the Japanese-application PTO speeds. You can tell by the sound at the rear which is the slowest. Keep it there, even locking out the other two, which are used only for paddy-frothing tillers. ....
