I have a friend that is going in with his Dad to buy a used tractor for their farm. It will be used for plowing, tilling/discing, a little road maintainence, and brush hogging. He seems interested in Kubotas but doesn't know which one would be the right one. Any ideas?
His budget is ~$5000 for the tractor. He's starting to realize that a compact utility tractor may be out of reach.
Thanks,
Bill

I am not sure if this particular tractor will fill the bill but it is in the price range you are talking about. I traded this tractor in on a John Deere 4410. It has about 265 hours on it and I just changed ALL the fluids and filters right before I traded her in. It also has new front tires which I had installed (6 ply)& turf tires on the back. L1200 FEL and L590 finishing mower. I also installed a NEW Kubota ROPS on her the day before I traded her. I am sure Hutson Ag would be willing to work a deal with you. I have over $300 worth of parts manuals, shop manuals, owner's manuals, and NEW parts of left over from when I had it. I was going to keep it but I came across I deal I couldn't refuse on the 4410. It is 26 horse power, not the advertised 38. Might be worth the drive from West VA for you? If you are interested let me know and I can put you in touch with Trent and you two can work out a deal. ....

Bill, it depends on what he can find in his area that fits his needs. There are tractors out there that can be bought to do the job, the 5000 dollar part will definitly limit the selection. I would suggest that when they find a piece that they think will work that we look at them individually to see if they fit the needs. They would find that some of the older farm tractors might be the best deal for them. Call me if they get close and I'll tell them what to look for by model and brand. 1-800-859-4483 ....

Thanks, guys.
Chief, I'll send my friend the link.
Art, I agree...I'm trying to persuade him to go with something like a MF135. A person could find a decent one for that much money. And he won't be doing any yard work with it. Nothing against Kubota, mind you. It's just hard to find a used compact tractor around here.
