OK, I need some advice on how tight the side to side sway adjustment should be. Is it no play for straight ahead work like a BB and PHD and a little sway for Brush hogging? My new tractor was delivered with a BB atatched that is tight, no side to side play at all.

I don't have a PHD, so don't know for sure on that but I leave a bit of play for the BB and the rotaty cutter to allow for the BB catching a rock or for me being a bit close to a post or tree with the cutter. It keeps from yanking the tractor somewhat. I leave a bit of play for the tiller too, you always will find a rock or something that gives it a yank. Too much play is too much, but you'll soon find a setting that is pleasing to you, I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. ....

Did someone say "yank"?

I prefer loose for all the same reasons Franky said. You have better inital steering too since the implement still wants to follow but not so ridgidly. ....
