Deere 430 60 quot mower deck

I recently bought a used Deere 430. The belt on the 60" mower deck (and the sheaves) gets very hot after use (too hot to hold onto very long). Is this normal? I checked and greased all the sheaves. They all appear to be aligned. The gear box has no play, the gears, keys,and key ways are in good shape. I just put on a new sheave on the drive shaft and a new belt.

So does mine and I bought mine used. Did you find out if this was normal/ ....
