Hello to all!
We're about to undertake building a new home on a 14 acre site. We'd like to do some of the prep work on the land before construction and all of the continuing grounds maintenance (including a future 2 - 3 acre garden).
The land: 14 total acres of which 5 is thick woods in need of thinning and some clearing. The home site is about an acre, including the home footprint.
The remaining 8 acres is pasture and a couple of really old maple trees. It would make an ideal spot for a 2 or 3 acre garden.
So, here's the situation... I'm leaning towards the 3320 (with cab) and the 300CX loader and a 60" BB Cutter. I'll add a finish mower after the house is built and the lawn is in. My local JD dealer has a zero hour 2006 with the 300 CX and seems eager to get it out of inventory. He tells me I can get the 3320 for "a little under $20,000 and the CX for $3,400."
I know I can get the 3720 with the same equipment for another $3,800 and am questioning if the additional HP is required for my tasks and worth the extra money.
I'd welcome any and all opinions.

I just checked the prices listed at tractorhouse.com
It seems to me that you should be able to get a brand new 2007 model JD3320, with the loader, for somewhere around $18,000.
Other than the price your dealer is asking, I believe you've found yourself the right tractor for the job. I see no reason to go with the bigger model, unless you're in a very big hurry to get the prep work done.

Test drove it before. Very smooth and full functions. You will be happy with the price if know what is my local dealer quota? 3320 with 300x loader,no cab, 21230:-( ....

Go for the HP. I used a3320 with a cx300 and a woods rotary cutter(60") for about 3-4 hrs before returning it due to a previously discussed problem with the dealer. I have about 16 acres,mostly fields.The tractor was a replacement for my 1984 950. I noticed a big difference in all around performance. I was not happy with the woods cutter since I had a jd cutter for 23 years with no problems other than replacing the seal more often as the cutter aged. I ended up at another dealer and bought a 3520,hydro,cx300, and a mx-5 cutter. I am very happy with this package and notice the difference in hp and the cutter.
I noticed on this site someone mentioned going to the JD website, checking out the list price of tractor and attachments, then deduct 15-16% off list. After shopping around this seems to be a accurate method of what a fair price should be. Good luck. Go with the higher HP. ....

Does the 3320 have a cab for 20,000? I paid 29,500 or maybe 28,500 (can't remember) for a 3520 cab 300cx loader 4n1 bucket and electric diverter valve and 60" mid mount mower w/turff tires. I bought mine when they first came out and they did not want to deal very much. ....

I have a 3320 without a cab, and use an MX-5 cutter on hilly terrain. It has enough power to do the job. Other than maybe getting it to go faster on hills while driving on the road, I don't need more power. But with a cab, there may be more weight, and power used for the A/C. ....

I moved up to a 3520 CAB from the 3320 Cab, as I received advice that with the AC on, and running a 72" MMM, the 3320 might be looking for some additional power. The price diff was not that big and the dealer was ready to deal and so it worked out. I have some slopes that 15 to 25 degrees and so I leaned towards more horses for the Cab unit.
