Power beyond means that the pump flow is available beyond the valve for additional or existing circuits. The pump flow goes directly through the valve body without being routed to the work ports. When a spool is activated, pump flow is directed to the work port as required, but the balance of the flow is still available downstream from the valve. Whenever you add a valve into an existing hydraulic circuit, you normally need a valve with a power beyond port to keep fluid flow available to the rest of the circuit. ....
