I am thinking of converting to air tires for my 72" Caroni side discharge mower. What are the downsides or upsides to air tires vs. solid tires.

I have two 60" finish mowers - Caroni w/ solids and Landpride w/ air. The air tires don't seem to jar the deck as much whem crossing rough patches of ground, but of course the solids won't go flat............chim ....

I had to replace a couple on an old Landpride I had, Ouch. I think I would foam fill the tires before going for the solid. I believe they would still be cheaper to replace.
