I have a Model 860 Ford tractor, with a Serial number of 8751. The 860 tells me it's a 1955, but the serial tells me it's a 1954. It also has no nuts on the rear hubs, which would indicate a 1955. Any help would be much appreciated.

Lyle,

It's very possible that your tractor just happened to be manufactured during the model year change-over.

Just as example, my Ford F250 pickup is listed by Ford as a 1997-1/2. Changes were made mid-year during the production run.
