The manual for my JD 4110 refers to grease of NLGI grade 2. I picked up some tubes of grade 1.5 at the hardware -- is that better or worse than 2, or thicker or thinner, i.e., should I use it or not?

1.5 is thinner than NGLI #2. I would not use thinner lubricant except in very cold conditions. ....
