New Cub Cadet Owner needs 3PH help

Posted for PJ Drew: Greetings,I took delivery of my used Cub 7275 with a new Koyker loader on it and an very happy. However, I can't get the 3pt to work with loader attached. I figured out that 3rd plug on hydraulic block is for power beyond hose and have run one to joystick control but still doesn't seem to work. Loader is Koyer 150 with a Waluoil joystick. I got manual on loader but didn't get seperate one on joytick and don't know if that was supplied by Koyker or not. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. PJ Drew

Hey there. I'm assuming that your 7275 is similar to my 7265. The system on my tractor is an open center system, meaning that fluid circulates constantly thru the loader plumbing when it is attached (simplified explanation to be sure). When I remove my loader I have 2 options - 1 is to loop back one of my hoses so the circuit is still complete (Quick disconnects and hoses set up for just that)OR 2 - move the little lever on the hydraulic block from S to O (or is it O to S?).

IF your 3pt is not working, you may not be looping thru properly. This is bad, and may cause damage to your hydraulic system.

There have to be 3 lines running to the loader - fluid out, open center return, cylinder return. This open center return is what powers the 3ph. Also, to lower the 3ph, dont forget the valve under the seat - its sets the return rate.

PJ, My 7275 has the Woods 417 loader and that unit is different only in design and not function. Hydraulics are hydraulics and there should be only a few things that could be wrong, so if you stay with me we should be able to get you up and running. Page 75 of your 7275 owners manual will show you the correct position of the hydraulic block shut-off plate. You can't accidentally have this in the wrong position because it requires removing and reinstalling a bolt. The shut-off plate MUST be in the "S" position to run your loader, the "O" position is for when NO attachment or implement is connected. Hoses: looking at the hydraulic block you'll see (3) fittings; two to the left marked "T" and "N", one to the lower right marked "P". "T" is for your loader control valve's OUTLET. "N" is for your loader control valve's POWER BEYOND PORT. "P" is for your loader control valve's INLET. Your 3 PT should function if these hoses are connected. If not, try turning your hydraulic control flow knob counter-clockwise (FAST setting) until it stops, your hitch should run fast when you activate the hitch control lever. Turn the knob clockwise to slow its speed. You didn't say if your hitch has the draft control option, if you do, see pages 69, 70, and 71 for proper operation. You also didn't say if you had a with sub-frame backhoe running from your PBY circuit or other rear hydraulically operated implement attached. If you do, then no matter what you do, the hitch will lay idle-it won't work at all because the 3 PT hitch circuit is by-passed. Finally, if someone operated your tractor with the shut-off plate in the wrong position, the chances of having a hydraulic system failure is strong, however, you'll know because your hitch wouldn't be working before you installed the loader. GO SLOW, CHECK YOU CONNECTIONS, and you should be OK. Good Luck, Teddy Joe
