bought an older woods 6' hd cutter and pto part of driveshaft was mia. scrounged one up from junk yd and the rear 1 3/16" square shaft only extends 6" inside the front shaft on level ground. IS THERE A PROBLEM?

IMHO, 6" is nowhere near enough overlap, beyond the excess load (and wear) that will result from this, and bearing in mind it's likely seen a fair bit of use already, if that 6" disappears when say full raised it will be a very scary situation.

thanks, Murf for your input--can't imagine what it would be like to come apart--I'll scrounge for a longer pto shaft. It's 26" and the shaft from the mower is 20". a 30 incher should do it--thanks again and by the way you are the main reason I bought an L3130 GST ....
