Hi -- I'm thinking of getting a Ventrac 4200 with the Kawasaki engine. I just had a Demo the other day - the dual wheel version handled the back of my pond dam (about 30 degree slope) with tough cut. The tractor slid sideways someimes, but showed no sign of tipping. It was getting late, so they said they would bring it back for me to drive on other parts of my property.

I have 10 hilly acres and a 1 acre pond to take care of. I don't believe a Deere or Kubota 4WD Sub-compact would handle what I need to do. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

B.K. Brown

BKBrown, there are commercial mowers from almost every manufacturer out there with VERY low C. of G.'s (Center of Gravity).

I would look at a commercial FMM such as any of the ZTR's Kubota, Deere, and Toro just to name a few make them.

They will fly up & down hills that you can barely stand on.

Tim, there is just one word for it, SPAM !!!

Best of luck.

Best of luck. ....

Thanks, but as I said I need to do much more than just mow.
Will these machines take attachments?

They are also capable of blowing snow, sweeping, and a bunch of other things too.

What sort of tasks did you have in mind? ....

Mowing, Snow pushing and blowing, Grading, Landscaping, clearing in the woods (pulling, draging, pushing), spreading sand and fertalizer, in general everything a tractor will do, but small and stable. ....

They will do almost everything you need, they won't do the grading very well, although I do know someone who has a grader blade for theirs and does lawn prep. work with it.

They are also not off-roaders.

They are however, CONSIDERABLY less money than a Ventrac, they will likely also cut grass FAR faster than one.

Best of luck. ....

Thanks, I'm also looking at Deere x595 & 2210 -- Kubota BX --Simplicity Legacy XL -- Massey Sub-compact --

I'm not sold on any one machine yet!

A couple years ago I even tried out an ASV30 rubber tracked unit. It was great, but unless I'm going to go into excavating and construction I don't need that much machine.

I DO know the limits of what I want. ....

Hi BK:

I have a Ventrac 4200 like new with 29 hours on it.
3 year old 60" flip up mower deck in very good condition
3 year old slip scoop
New Set of duals

New, all of this would go for

4200 VXD with 31 HP Gas $17565
60" Deck (flip up style) $ 2625
48" SLip Scoop $ 1120
New set of Duals $ 750
Total-----------------------------
$22060

I will sell everything for $16000

The tractor is brand new les 29 hours on it. It is two months old so it still has 22 months warranty on it.

The Duals are brand new

The deck and scoop are about three years old and in great shape.

I am selling because I need a tractor with a bit more FEL capability.
