If you have a bx2200 yes plan on a little grinding. It took me 5 minutes. Look at the related topic in this area for bx top link.

This link is much better than the factory one but it doesn't fit in the hanger when you don't have an an implement. Not having on an implement is like driving a car w/ out seats so who cares!

The older K series rip through them like crazy. They just get plain eratic and won't run regardless of adjustment. they wear and then I guess it sucks some air or something, Knight's power Equipment turned me on to this a few year back and saved me a lot of grief.

It's all in the dealer and how hard they work for you. I had several minor problems w/ my silverado and they helped me through all of them. The heated mirrors broke 2 times. onec at about 10K then at 75K. They replaced them free at 75K for me.

The A/C was a little problematic too. They went the extra mile and found a service bulitin from an Escalade with the same problem. On idle for a little while, the condensor will get too hot and shut the compressor off. The bulitin called for the instalation of this big GM electric fan. At first I was a little upset I needed this big fat loud fan everytime my compresser kicked on but my A/C is colder than cold. The benefit of this fan is that I plow so i keep the defroster on when the plow is on and the fan keeps my radiator nice and cool.

I think it all depends on the dealer and if it was a good employee or disgruntled UAW guy angry with the world who built your engine.

I have a 2002 silverado 1500 4x4 extra cap and I went with the Toyo tires. They have more meat on them than any tire I've seen and they wear like iron. I currently have 90,000 on the truck. The original Firestones wore out quickly mostly because of a posi rear lock up. They don't tell you at GM that they use a break in fluid on the axle lock rears and after 20K if you don't change it the posi locks on you. I made an appointment for 4 days later and wore the backs right off on the hot july pavement.

I bought the Toyo open country in the stock 265 size. I put them on at 35k and now I have 90k and they are still fine. I rotate them ever 10 and these are the best tires I have ever owned.

I drive about 50-60K per year in CT and we see out share of heat and snow. I have a 7 1/2 foot Boss plow on my truck, I pull a 16 foot trailer loaded all the time and drive as hard as anyone. 75 on the highway and hard on the side roads. I will never buy another tire. I've had Michelins, Good Year, Firestones, BF goodrich, those junk Sidewinders and all of them. They Toyo's are the best. We have a chain called Town Fair Tire around here. They sharpen their pencil if you deal with them. ANY tire place will negotiate. Check out Tirerack.com, this is a great place to buy them and have the local gas station mount and balance them.

I normally don't reccommend a product but these Toyo's are as good as they get.

Guys, thanks for the info. I'm going back up this weekend to see where the price is. I think what he is asking is a little high but I know the ball is in my court because he's moving and not a real good advertiser. I think if I hold out I can rob it for 10k which will be a steal in my opinion considering it has a backhoe.

I'll keep everyone posted if it happens. I'm not big on gear drive but this would be a nice machine for that price.

I figured I'd post this one here. I have a JD Gator I just picked up cheap and want to change the transmission fluid. It says to use only John Deere Hy-gard. I have 2 gallons of Super UDT in my garage. It's gotta be just as good or better right? By all means I can't see it hurting it. Any opinions? I don't need cutting edge because this is a knock around utility vehicle. I stole it for $1,000 and it runs great but it deserves a service because I have no clue when it was done last. They are pretty much the same stuff right?

Not for nothing but the $20.00 for this site probably saved you a $15,000 mistake by buying the wrong tractor. Once you buy a machine you will see that 20 bucks goes a long way on this site. I paid my 20 and think I got it back about 10 times in less than a year.

I just bought a 1996 Gator 4x2 with a manual dump. It is mechanically fine. Looks decent for a 9 year old utility vehicle. Does anyone know the "problem" areas of these that I should focus on? I plan on keeping it. It runs great. What do you run in the transmission? It says to use only the JD fluid. What is the general replacement for this? I think I got this thing pretty cheap, I paid $1,000 for it - the owner sold his house and was moving soon so he needed it sold. What a cool machine. I had to have it!

The KK stuff is very over priced. I was at TSC this weekend. the big 5' standard blade was CHEAPER than the skimpy 4' xb box blade. Same thing for the grader blades. They are the only one making cat01 stuff with a cat0 spread for the subs.

I picked up a new but "left outside" too long xb 4' box blade for 275 from a local place. I still think a 5' for a bx is too big. Just looking at it full of dirt it probably weighs as much as my bx2200.

The spreader I got is a full size one and it is great. I would just buy a full size cat1 spreader and not the little xb one.

Here is my take brokenarrow...You know how to do it yourself and from you pictures of stuff you made, you seem to be a pretty talented guy. My time is very important too so what I do is either get up real early or stay up real late and do my own servicebefore the family wakes up or after they go to bed. Part of the reason is I enjoy doing it and the other part is that sometimes you end up with a 16 year old kid doing your service at the dealer and they miss stuff.

I don't like anyone working on my "stuff" unless it's over my head. Little things like allowing ALL the oil to drip out, prefilling the oil filters before you screw them on. Making sure you put the right quality oil in there not just some no-name bulk stuff from a 55 gallon drum makes you feel a little more confident when pushing a machine hard.

Time is important but I personally enjoy diesel running down my arm when changing a fuel filter. I make good money and can afford it but it's a good feeling knowing it was done right and the right stuff was put in the machine.

Nothing like thinking , "I wonder if that kid at the dealer really took apart my strainer on the rear hydro unit and cleaned it...if he did I sure hope he didn't damage the screen"

200 hours is not the best for zero service but I wouldn't hit the panic button. The conditions there probably aren't very dusty like light construction work. More machines then you would care to think are run like this on the used market. When you go to buy it they will tell you it was serviced but who knows. At least you know the bench mark.

Granted, the initial 50-100 hours is the big break in period and you would rather have one with 250 hours that was serviced at 50 but I wouldn't panic if the price is right. I am very suprised a dealer would allow the lease without the required service? Are you positive there was no service done? That to me seems strange.

The 4' xb one was 398. I went to TSC today. What a great store. The 5' real one was actually better. The XB line has the cat0 spread with teh cat one holes.

I just don't know if my little bx2200 can pull a 5' with the high moldboard and all that dirt. It has the HP but not sure if it has the weight to make traction.

The machine wasn't choking or anything, I just figured 500 hours was a lot for waiting on changing a filter. When I pulled off the first one I couldn't believe what it looked like. I hope I don't need to pull the tank off but we will watch it.

I do a lot of stuf on ebay and the fishy ones that are scams are the ones that say "pre-approved" bidders only or don't use the ebay link , it's not working send all email to this email address with a weird address. They will ask you to wire funds. These are all scams. They bootleg some dumma%%'s account because he was stupid enough to send his password to a bogus email and then they get you. They actually take the pics from an old listing. They are easy to spot because most of them are from another country and write in broken english.

Anyne who is dumb enough to buy a machine on ebay and pay all or part of it without seeing it first is a dope and deserves to be scammed. I NEVER require a deposit or payment. They come get it, feel it was described properly , hand me the $$ for it and they take it home. DO NOT buy from anyone who wants money up front or you will loose hard earned cash!

Hey - are you looking in my windows at night? You must have seen I am suffering from a mild case of OHS (over hang stomach)!

You are probably right, nothing beats a good walk. The 20 minutes is with my 2 wheel velke. I need to bring the velke to the dump and start walking. I have too much stuff to mow with and plow with it's almost silly. I have 2 bobcat mowers, a 52 great dane rider, a 52 scag, nice wheel horse 414-8 about 4 snow blowers, a snow thrower on my wheel horse, 7 1/2 new boss plow on my chevy and then some. Pretty much all of these except the walk behind snow throwers are more of a workout for the seat of my pannt than my ticker!

How was it running at 1400? This thing runs like new at 999.2 hours. I'm chewing on keeping it or dumpling it. It's bought and paid for. I figure if I can get another 1,000 out of it it is probably worth keeping. It's a Great Dane Chariot riding mower. What a well built machine.

Has anyone had the chance to use a Brown MFG Bed Edger? I have a line on one and am thinking of buying it. It is the 8 hp model Bed Edger. The blade is the brand new v blade and it's in nice shape. The seller and I agreed on 700 bucks which I think is a fair price. It's only 2-3 years old and lightly used. What do these cost new? Are they worth the money? Pretty simple machine to cost so much $$$$.<br>
