I fixed it. What a project just to replace a hose! A 17mm stubby wrench - what a bummer to fit the stubby wrench in there. Actually had to remove the outer hose to get the inner one off. Since the hose does not have spinnable joint - to take it off and put it on you must be sure to remove and install the propert end first. Seriously. Take a look if you don't understand what I am talking about. This note is very important for anyone who may have to replace one of these hoses. If you try to disconnect the wrong end first - the hose will twist and kink while you try to loosen it. Gotta do this in the right order!

With 4 hours of operation and a large white piece of paper under the tractor - NOT A DROP :).

As I get used to my new TC25D - I am getting to know what is normal. Would anyone care to describe what is normal during cold start, hot start, and winter start in the way of what the exhaust should look like, how long it takes to stabilize, when is it considered "warmed up"?

Because of the large rubber gasket on these filters - there has to be at least 1/16 of an inch compression (at least that is what I would think). Therefore - even with a slight surface imperfection it would probably seal (unless the machined surface is convex or concave at some point). I would check to see if the fluid is coming from a seal point above or behind the filter. My two cents.

Update - now sold the JD318. Boomer can do everything. Can't get as close to the trees as the small garden tractor - but still good enough. Also - had to trip some lower branches so ROPS would not break them off.

I have the standard NH toolbox on the back of my TC25D. the cover is warped and it does not shut properly. Anyone else deal with this. I thought about warming it with a propane torch and bending the cover in a convex configuration such that when the latch is closed it will seal better.

Must have been some anomaly, however, it still turned me off. It turned me off similarly when I found the brakes and hydro pedals on the same side of my Boomer TC25D.

I would choose a JD272 Grooming mower over anything for large open areas. It gives you the stripes and a very level cut - no scalping. I can't stand my 60" on my Boomer. It, of course is better for getting close to obstacles but is not even close - in terms of cut quality to the grooming mower I speak of. The 3 pt is easy to get off and on too. Here is the decision for me: Sacrifice the better, wider cut for agility and go with a rear discharge MMM with a 60" unit. It is true that a 72" MMM may be better for you. What I am saying is that even though the MMM is not as good at cutting - go with it anyhow so you can use your SuperSteer and get more agility. Better yet - buy both!

Just my opinion - but I even make sure the deck is clean - the blades are sharp - the mower is balanced, level, etc.. I still can't compete with the grooming mower (others call it a finishing mower).

One point to note. Tractors such as the Ford 600 series and even the 8Ns had draft control fed through a spring behind the top link. It does work and well - only for plowing. As most of you know the 3 point hitch was designed by Harry Ferguson who teamed with Henry Ford to make a 9N in about 1939. All modern tractors use this basic design. In addition to the position control we have on the compacts - the old units - many of them had draft control - primarily to comensate for when the front tires go in a perpendicular rut. Questions?

Jerry - I wish it was a little more intuitive. I have only had the tractor for a few weeks and am getting used to it. There are at least two, maybe 3 points on each side where I could possibly make a MMM leveling adjustment. 1) I assume that the nuts on the springs at the rear are not going to level it. 2) The rod can be taken up or loosened at the front. 3) The rod can be taken up or loosened at the back. Right now all of my rods are flush with the U shaped clevis tapped hole

Has anyone ever taken off the plastic cover beneath the dash? It seems I can lube all hyro linkage points except the one that is squeeking :). It is somewhere behind this plastic cover on my TC25D.

Has anyone ever had an issue with this? Mine - no matter how hard I turn the cap - I can't get it loose. I have now tried so hard that it moves like 1/4". My concern now is that I have somehow stripped the plastic in the cap. Anyone know anything about this? I am thinking I can pop off the cap cover and loosen that nut to get to what ever is stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
