Im not ready for surgery yet. I can still do most things without glasses. I drive, actually I just passed my CDL physical without having to wear them. The only time I really use them is reading and detailed stuff with low light. When I got them the optometrist said I would become more dependant on them as I got used to them. I guess I should wear them more as Im not used to them yet.
I'll try that antifog stuff. Ive tried spitting on them, used to do that when I would dive, but it doesnt seem to work on glasses, maybe my spit has gone bad with age along with my eyes.
I get the sweat droplets on them as well but that doesnt bother me like the steaming up does.
I payed a couple hundred for nice frames and perscription lenses a couple years ago. A month ago, while at Walmart, I see these cheapo $5 reading glasses. I try a pair on and low and behold, they work just as well for me as my perscription glasses. What gives?

I dont know. Hows the Epower reverser work? I thought it was just an electronic shuttle. Doesnt it still have ranges?

I a little late on this because all the right answers have been given. Here it goes anyway. I dont know the specifics of GA, I was a real estate agent in MD for awhile. Its true that after a certain time period, if you allow him to use the land, he will be granted ownership of it. Its been a number of years but I thought that was called "perceptive easement" not "perscriptive". Maybe different for different states. If that hasnt happened and you just cant leave it be and it turns out that he doesnt have deeded access through your property, another solution that would be considered a compromise would be to start leasing the ground to him. I dont recommend court to anyone but if left with no choice, this may be an option to look at. Ask for $75 a month and the court may compromise at $40. That would be enough to cover most future maintenance.
Again, I think I would try to get over it but I dont know your situation. I know Ive got a next door neighbor that doesnt exactly take pride in his house. It used to bother me. At one point I was actually considering offering him a reasonable amount for his house just to get rid of him. Now I can joke around about it and I feel much better. All I know is I would take three eroded drives over one trashy neighbor.

Thanks Frank, I didnt know that. Ive never used the stuff myself. Ive always been nervious about using anything because of our dog, cat and rabbit that on occation nibble at the yard. I consider the weeds to be as green as grass.

Heres a vote the other way.
You didnt say anything about moving dirt, gravel or doing any loader work, grading or plowing. If you were planning on lots of this I would have to say go with the 3130. For just mowing, even some snow removal or spreading gravel, dirt or light landscaping, the 2910 would suit you as well. If I were looking for something for use around the yard only, I think I would go for the B7800.

I did mine a couple months ago and it worked out good. It wasnt much of a mess and when I was done, I felt more comfortable with the tractor. We are intimate:0.
My dealer, actually two of them that I called, said the same thing, no need to change hydro fluid. I changed all the fluids and filters when I did it.

Send it my way. Ive got moles real bad this year and Ive found that a few black snakes will take care of them. Amazingly, Ive convinced my wife of this and she doesnt have a problem with the couple of snakes Ive imported.

This has already been answered but yes it does go into neutral for a moment between gears. I find that its much quicker and smoother to use the clutch manually and to let off the throttle when changing gears. When Im travelling up or down a hill (lots of times here in WV), I generally keep the thottle lever set to about 900 rpms and give it a little brake pedal during the shift so it doesnt get jurky or roll back.
All in all im happy with my decision but I think any tractor with a shuttle would work for me. Whats turned out to be a real nice feature is that there are no ranges. This has been an advantage more than I expected it would be.

Ive got a 97 Ford F350 with an 8'dump bed. The cab and bed are currently white. The paint on the cab is in good condition and I dont mind it being white. The bed paint is chipped and rusting and I hate the white dump bed. I want something that wont show rust stains and will be easy to touch up. My first thought is your standard black but you see that alot. Im now leaning towards camouflage for the bed. A nice quality job done in basic woodland camo. Ive never seen a dump truck bed painted camo so it should stand out. It will be easy to touch up, wont show dirt or rust stains and I can get it done for less than gloss black. Im also considering a roll on rubberized bed liner for the inside of the bed. Ive used a product called Hurculiner that has given me good results for years, but not really under the abuse that a dump bed is put through.<br>
Any thoughts, comments, ideas or opinions?<br>
Also, I have pics of my truck, trailer and tractor combo so you can get an idea what it looks like now but I need a host. anyone, anyone.

gFrank, Thanks for the words of wisdom. "communication" how very true. One of the things that prompted me to start a business was the experience my wife and I had getting our house built 6 years ago. Only about half of the contractors we used were reliable. The other half woudnt show when they said they would, wouldnt finish jobs they started or had to be watched constantly to see they did what they were supposed to. I have no idea how they stayed in business but they did. I would chalk it up to my poor choices of contractors but as I talked to people, I find out that Im not the only one that experiences this problem.
This is why it bugged me so much to not get the job done the day I started it. The good thing is that I stayed in communication with my client and let her know what was going on and why I didnt show on the days that it was muddy. The job is done to both our standards and while it did take me 4 days to complete it, I can recall similar tasks while I was building my home that the contractors stretched out to a couple of weeks or more.
I went over today to pick up my equipment. When I got there she was happily spreading seed and straw over the site and her boyfriend was measuring for the forms to pour the pads.

The paint on the pan seemed to be fine (except where the rust had taken over). I think it was just a case of years of heavy salt use. Im not sure its strictly a Ford problem, I think it may happen to more Fords, maybe, because more Fords are used for "working" applications where they are subjected to more extreme conditions. Think about how many more Ford utility, dump, plow/salt trucks you see on the road than Chevys and especially Dodges. Thats not a bust on Dodge, I wouldve actually preferred a Dodge but I couldnt find a 4X4 Dodge dump truck anywhere.
I suspect that my next rust related issue will be with the brake lines or hydraulic clutch lines. Theyre looking bad. Im going to start working on that problem before it becomes a problem.

My dad has one that he got when he was a kid. We rebuilt it when I was a kid back about 25 or 30 years ago. We had a great time tearing into the little engine, trying to find parts and correct paint. It looked absolutely show romm when we got done. My dad has it in Florida now and its still in good shape but doesnt run now for some reason.

I agonized over the decision of which hoe to buy for a long, long time and finally decided to get the Kubota BL4690B (3PH, 7.5ft depth) backhoe for my Grande L 3130. I couldnt decide between the 4690 and the BH90 (9.0ft depth) which is a subframe, fourpoint mount.
For my tractor and my use, my dealer strongly recommended the BL4690B. Most on this board and others pushed for a subframe mounted hoe, and for good reasons but I chose the 3PH type.
After seeing the 4690 mounted on the tractor, I would have to agree with the majority. I should have gotten the larger hoe not so much because of its mounting system, but because I think that Ive limited myself as far as digging depth and power.
The 3PH mounting really doesnt bother me too much. Its easy on and easy off, my particular tractor already has a frame that connects the rear axle to the loader frame and has a really beefy 3PH and I love the idea of the seperate hydro pump on the 4690 (the BH90 uses tractor hydraulics).

Well water thats got 28 GPG of mostly calcium. Five years ago, during a weak moment, we tried a set of those high strength magnets that clamp onto your pipes. Still using them today. Still on our original heater element, coffeemaker and plenty of suds. We do have some signs of hard water left on the sinks and shower but they are no worse than when we had city water from a reservor.
My neighbor is on his third heater element and he has a conventional softener that he keeps on a low setting because he needs to watch is sodium intake.
Do the magnets work, maybe, maybe not. Its hard to tell because supposedly they dont take anything out of the water. They change the structure of the calcium so that it doesnt collect on stuff, it just flows on through. I didnt really believe that it would work but Im a K.I.S.S. kinda guy so I figured what the heck.
I will say that, as advertised, right after we installed them, large amounts of calcium came through our system for about a week or so. Enough that I had to clean the sink screens out every couple of days. The instructions said this would happen as the previously built up calcium was dislodged.
I know its hard to believe and to this day, I dont recommend them to anyone. I do tell my experience, but I wont recommend them because its just too farfetched for me to believe these magnets actually work. Its like thinking youve seen a UFO but your ashamed to tell anyone.
Does anyone have any scientific basis to think this would or would not work?
