Is there a need to lube the JD 4310 MFWD pivot point? Is there a bearing or bushing that should routinely be lubricated? I'm referring to where the center/top of the front end attaches to the tractor.

Mystery piece identified!! It is the 3 point hitch control lever lower stop block. It was already missing when I bought the tractor...amazing how it got wedged where it was found.

I was checking the linkage for the front-end laoder hydraulic controls and found a small block of steel wedged outboard of the two active portions of the control valve. The "lego" shaped block is steel, has a hole drilled through it, and appears to have never been installed anywhere. It looks like it has been sitting where is was since the tractor was new (2004). There are two pics of the part on my profile. It is about 1 1/2" x 1" in size. I look on the JD parts site and could not find anything that looks like it.

I have a 2004 JD 4310 tractor with the hydrostatic transmission. I am mounting a JD 48 backhoe that uses the tractor's hydraulics to power it. I do not have a power beyond kit installed. I'm wanting to seek alternatives to the $300 power beyond kit. I have several photos and have seen the kit installed on a tractor and it does not look too complicated to have made, possibly with a combination of hydraulic hoses and some tubing. I'm not talking about using a bunch of car heater hose and some duct tape for this, I mean something well-made. I know farmers and tractor owners are some of the best modifiers and inventors around. Has anyone used the spare control section from the hydraulic valve that powers the front-end loader? I have my wheels and fenders off right now and it looks simple to make a control handle and tap into that valve. I do have reasonable knowledge of fabricating tubing for hydraulics; I have made several for large transport aircraft at my job. Thanks guys!

I own a 2004 JD 4310 tractor and I got a JD 48 backhoe for it. The mounting plates that attach to the tractor were not included. Does anyone know where I could get a pair? I'd even be happy to have someone trace the outline of one and I could make the plates. I don't have the power beyond on my tractor either. Has anyone had tubing/hoses made that functions as well as the power beyond set-up? Thanks!

Thanks for the great info hardwood! Are there any things I should know about the JD 4310 in particular? I bought it last week...it is a 2004 rental unit with 2000 hours. It's well used, but not beat up. The 430 loader is pretty loose but I already have that off and apart. I will build up the worn areas where it mounts with hardfacing weld and maybe think about bushing the pins.
