I had one of those they are terrible for digging up the lawn. The extra add on wheels don't help even makeit worse.
The wheels are too small. I would not recommed jd 261.
LandPride mower is much better. I now have 2572 excellent cuttting.no problems at all.

The 70 series tractors have electric shut off. If you lost power to the pump it would not run or start.

I have 870 jd's
The hydralic will be just fine.
2wdr is the problem
You wont move unless you weight the rear end.
Not worth the price.

I have been watching Ebay for one.
I understand about control leveler.
But I have the center link connected there already.
And Isn't there a set couplers to add where my loader Quick couplers are ? I Not sure which bucket to get.
I do landscaping on the side. Lot of brush ,stones and Leaves need to be pickup.

I have owned one for 5years now . I love it!
My land is very hilly and rocky plus many stumps because it was logged years ago. Without the winch I could not get much of the fire wood because you can't get close.
The winch pull's just about anything. I also purchased the snach block. This setup is good for just about any you will find where can't get a straight pull.
I rate this A+. I have it on a jd 870

I put two of those in this fall. On 870 and 4510 deere I did not drain the the block. I had the heater ready with sealer on it. With cap left on it lost maybe quart.
It is imposible to drain the block without taking out that plug. So have everything ready and just do it. You will be suprised how little will be lost. The hardest part was loosing the factory plug on that 4510. It took a 2 foot cheater and a light taping to break it loose. I had to remove my starter. on the 4510

If you go with the rebuild go all the way and replace bearings. they may appear ok but a little play will take out the new seal too after a short time.

Keep in mine these are not trucks with suspention. the battery in you tactor was build so the plate don't come lose from the bounce of a ruff ride. You need a ruff service battery or it won't last long at all.

Anyone use an Optima battery in their JD tractor

I use a small torch purchased from the Farm& Fleet store.
Dry old boards light the boards first& slowy keep feeding boards and brush. It will burn.

I had a JD 650, that is a Electric clutch.
Your problem could very well be belt. Or rust has gotten in the clutch not letting it ingage fully. Check your belt.
spray clutch and brake cleaner in the clutch. and see what
happens after that. Keep us posted.

I have just purchased a new JD 4510.
I have a jd 8b Backhoe. I am in the process of mounting the hoe on the 4510.I am doing it by purchaing the mounting brackets and sub frame for the 48 backhoe. A couple of small changes and new holes. and it will fit.
The dealers and Deere said No it wont fit. My ruler and welder said it will! Remember they want to sell new ones!
Deere hydraulic oil are same. My 8B backhoe has only 30 hours use. I Like you don't want to spend 6k for that new one when I have this one paid for.
Caution
The only thing is mixing oils from Deere to New Holland .
